Viticulture and Winemaking in the Central Balkans (15th–19th Century)

The opening of the exhibition “Wine Chronicles of Serbia” in Aleksandrovac

The exhibition “Wine Chronicles of Serbia” was opened in Aleksandrovac, in the Museum of Winemaking and Viticulture, on the 13th of September 2024. Dr. Aleksandar Fotić, a member of the BalkViWine project team and one of the authors of the exhibition and the organizer of the catalog/monograph of the same name, also spoke at the opening of the exhibition.

This exhibition that was originally held in the Science and Technology Gallery of SASA during November last year (authors of the exhibition: Željko Tomanović, Aleksandar Fotić, Miroslav Nikolić, Slavica Todić, Milica Rat, Tomislav Ivanović).

During the opening and discussion, the BalkViWine project was promoted. It was pointed out the importance of the future results of the project for shedding light on a little-known period (15th – 18th century) in the history of viticulture and winemaking in the central Balkans.
